MEET DR. ANDY CARVER

As the first board-certified emergency and critical care specialist in North Dakota, Dr. Andy Carver DVM, DACVECC has become well-known in his profession and in the workplace. Dr. Carver has experience with many different emergency scenarios and supervises the health care plans of our ICU patients. He has recently advanced services pertaining to treating pets with acute kidney failure and specific toxicity issues at Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and Referral Center (RRAEH). This new service added is hemodialysis which will be utilized for future patients and incorporated into new treatment plans, if necessary. MEET DR. SAM WIGGLESWORTH

Dr. Sam Wigglesworth, VMD DACVECC, moved to North Dakota and joined the RRAEH team in the summer of 2021 as its second specialist in Critical Care. She attended Drexel University for her undergraduate degree in Philadelphia and then moved onto the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2014. She then completed a rotating internship and a 3-year residency in Emergency & Critical Care from the University of Florida. She stayed on as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Emergency & Critical Care at the University of Florida for two years prior to moving to North Dakota. Dr. Wigglesworth loves all aspects of critical care but she is very passionate about trauma, shock, and pediatric/neonate care in the ICU. She is also trained in hemodialysis and mechanical ventilation.

Dr. Wigglesworth enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, and their dogs and cats. They love traveling and exploring- they’re looking forward to getting to experience North Dakota!
