The story of our ER visit starts with our sweet Ember being given to us when she was around 6 weeks old. A friend found her in a barn and rescued her. My oldest daughter instantly became attached and they were the best of friends. After a couple of weeks Miss Ember started to get sick. She wasn’t really as playful as she once was, sounded really raspy when breathing, etc.
We brought her in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and explained everything. My daughter was having an emotional breakdown at this point, afraid Ember would not come home with us. They took Ember back and gave her oxygen. At that time Ember did not have a fever and was still eating, pooping and peeing like she should. So, they mentioned a few tricks we could try at home to help Ember until we could get her in with a vet that Friday.
Unfortunately, being the day after Thanksgiving everyone was either full or closed and Ember was starting to take a turn for the worst. She got to the point she wouldn’t even get up to eat and her breathing was severely labored. We immediately brought Ember back to Red River clinic and as soon as we walked thru the doors the front desk team smiled, greeted us and immediately took Ember back to put her on oxygen again. After doing the exam they let us know our sweet girl had a fever, worms and Upper respiratory infection. They advised that they keep her for a couple of hours so she could stay in the oxygen room, start the first round of antibiotics and also get her fever down.
Just like they mentioned, after 2 hours we got the okay to come get our girl. They called us into a room where we went over everything from pricing to how to administer meds. The whole team really took care of us all that night and the best part is, they didn’t break the bank with pricing. All in all, I absolutely love Red River clinic and will be recommending them to everyone that will listen!! Amazing team from Vets to assistants to the front desk.
Thank you again for taking such good care of our sweet girl!
