Huntley

Huntley, an energetic Labrador Retriever, gave her family quite a scare when they noticed changes in her breathing. After an evaluation with her primary veterinarian, she was referred to Red River Animal Emergency Hospital for advanced care.

Further diagnostics revealed that Huntley was suffering from a pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, caused by severe inflammation within her chest. Our Emergency and Surgery teams worked closely together to determine the best treatment plan and ultimately recommended surgery.

Huntley underwent a complex procedure that allowed our team to remove diseased tissue and address the source of inflammation affecting her chest. Following surgery, she spent time recovering in the hospital where her breathing, comfort, and healing were carefully monitored.

Over the following months, Huntley returned for routine rechecks with our Surgery team and continued to make excellent progress.

Today, Huntley is back to enjoying life with her family and doing all the things she loves most. Her story is a wonderful reminder of the power of teamwork, advanced veterinary medicine, and the incredible resilience of our patients.
